Well… there really isn’t one. 🌲

On any given day, you might find our crew operating heavy equipment, building custom garden beds, moving mature trees, adding color to a garden, improving soil health, cleaning up a property, or digging a hole big enough for a swimming pool.

Sometimes, we do all of that in the same day.

That’s life at Whitehead’s Landscaping, and it’s exactly what we mean when we say we provide 360° outdoor services throughout Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey, and the Wood River Valley.

Bring Out the Big Boy Toys

Some landscaping projects require a shovel and a good pair of gloves.

Heavy equipment is an essential part of large-scale landscape construction in the Wood River Valley, especially when a project involves grading, excavation, moving large trees, installing hardscape features, or completely transforming an outdoor space.

Our landscape construction team handles projects from the ground up, including custom landscape installation, patios, walkways, retaining walls, garden beds, irrigation systems, sod, hydroseed, and much more.

Not every transformation requires heavy machinery. Sometimes a few well-designed garden beds and the right combination of plants can completely change the look and feel of a property.

Our team builds custom garden beds that create structure and definition within the landscape. Then our Lily & Fern crew can do what they do best—bring in the color.

Flowers, seasonal plantings, pots, baskets, and carefully designed garden spaces add personality to a landscape and soften the structural elements surrounding them.

Moving Big Trees Takes a Big Team

One of the advantages of working with Whitehead’s is access to our very own local tree farm.

Growing trees here in the Wood River Valley allows us to provide trees that are already accustomed to Idaho’s unique mountain environment. When it’s time to move and plant those trees, our crews have the equipment and experience necessary to tackle even the big ones.

Of course, landscaping doesn’t always go exactly according to plan.

Sometimes you hit a hiccup.

That’s when experience matters. Our crew assesses the situation, finds the solution, cleans up the mess, and gets the project moving in the right direction again.

After the heavy equipment, construction, trees, flowers, and excavation, some of our most important work happens beneath your feet.

Through Mountain Valley Compost & Tree Care, we produce our own nutrient-rich vermicast right here in the Wood River Valley.

Sometimes called “black gold,” vermicast is a natural soil amendment created with the help of Red Wiggler worms. It can improve soil structure, microbial activity, aeration, and water retention while providing valuable nutrients to plants.

So after spending the day moving dirt around, we also spend plenty of time making that dirt better.
